Ethanol has been on the list of hazardous substances which are carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction (CMR) in the Netherlands for over 4 years now. Therefore SIMACO GMBH will focus on inkjet consumables which safely mark product and packaging completely without ethanol at the Empack in Utrecht . The user can prevent costly consequences in this way.
The Ministerie van Sociale Zaken en Werkgelegenheid (SZW) classified ethanol as potentially carcinogenic and placed it on its CMR list in the beginning of 2015. This has serious consequences when coding packaging because many original consumables for industrial inkjets still contain the hazardous substance. Extensive health and safety measures and a requirement to keep records are necessary for those who continue to use it. SIMACO GMBH has the alternative: standard inks which do not contain ethanol or other CMR substances but have running, contrast and adhesive properties which are just as good. Visitors to Empack can see this for themselves at the exhibition stand of the specialist for non-hazardous inkjet printing inks. Empack / Jaarbeurs Utrecht
